The Remodel Studio, we offer a collaborative and supportive work environment for our Design Assistants. As a member of our team, you will work closely with clients to help them achieve their kitchen design goals, and have the autonomy to create your own schedule. We encourage creativity and innovation, and provide administrative support to help you stay organized and focused.

We are looking for an Interior Design Assistant to work with our team on residential kitchen remodel projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to help them achieve their design goals within their budget constraints. The projects involve cabinet refacing and generally not new build kitchens. They involve selections of cabinet paint color, sink, tile, countertop, faucet, plumbing, hardware, and sometimes wall or trim paint and coordinating fireplace tile. The design assistant will be responsible for selecting finishes from well-known brands and our partner showrooms.


As an independent contractor, you will be compensated on a per-project basis for your work, which will include finish and material selections, design implementation review, and limited customer communications. This is a contract position allowing you to set your own hours and work at your own pace.


  • Collaborate with clients to determine their design goals and preferences.

  • Use the preliminary client info, design goals, and information provided to finalize selections and refine the design concept.

  • Accompany clients on in-home and countertop showroom walk-throughs.

  • Provide recommendations and guidance to clients regarding design selections.

  • Conduct research and re-selections as necessary.

  • Attend additional 3 - 4 site visits during construction for additional support.

  • Complete a brief write-up of selections, will not include mood boards or renders.

  • Utilize administrative support, as necessary.


  • At least 3 years experience in interior design and construction required

  • Polished communication skills with the ability to work with clients and vendors.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack and Project Management Software

  • Willingness to attend on-site visits and showroom walkthroughs with clients.

  • Flexibility in schedule and style

  • Experience working effectively both independently and within a team

  • Professional liability insurance

This is a contract position, which includes some site visits. The position is a designer by your side versus fully curated luxury design. Opportunity for full project management or project director also available as a separate role. All contract offers are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates.

The Remodel Studio is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Administrative Assistant with construction or interior design knowledge to join our team. The Admin Assistant will  provide key administrative support while working in a vibrant and fast-paced environment.


Main duties of the job include, but are not limited to: 

  • Communicating with clients and subcontractors over the phone or through email. 

  • Schedule subcontractors for work or walkthroughs.

  • Providing administrative support to the project manager including note-taking and organizing agendas at meetings

  • Preparing billing invoices for clients as needed

  • Communicate any gaps that may influence the timeline of the project.

  • Process documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Follow up on overdue invoices.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation of construction plans and projects

  • Additional administrative tasks




  • A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a construction or interior design setting

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace applications such as Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail

  • Knowledge of construction terminology and processes

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask

  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment

  • Strong phone including the ability to effectively communicate over the telephone, take detailed messages, and properly direct calls.
